Blue Skies Seminar Weekend/Testing
17. May 2010 by Dojo-Cho Tim.
Yes, this weekend we had our Blue Skies Seminar & Testing with Takegushi Shihan and O’Connor Sensei.
Yes… what a fantastic weekend and a great accomplishment for all the Manasquan Dojo members that tested. I know that this round of testing was very stressful for the members, but they did absolutly FANTASTIC!!!!! Everyone’s personal best came out and our members even got up fo extra ukemi.. even after they had tested! Yes, they were not tired enough!
All I can say is that this could not have happened without the TEAM/FAMILY effort by everyone at the dojo. As a TEAM/FAMILY we shall achieve all our goals. I want to thank all of you for your continued support of the Manasquan Dojo. Please come to class.. we have new ranks & a black belt to break in!
The following are the members who tested: Trish Ann- Shodan, Jim Graz & Stan- 1st kyu, Jonathon- 2nd kyu, Hank/Anthony/Sean- 5th kyu. Congrats to all!!!

We Are Back 2 USA!
25. April 2010 by Dojo-Cho Tim.
we have landed & back in the USA! It will be fantastic 2 introduce all the new Aikido weapons work & hand-2-hand techniques to dojo members!. First weapons class is 2moro nite! It was a very exciting experience training with Aikidoka from over 25 countries. Every person I trained with was better than the next! The Amsterdam/Paris Aikido trip really gave me a new vision on my Aikido training. Hopefully I can share/remember all the new stuff with the dojo! Samurai Must Train!
Last Day In Paris!
24. April 2010 by Dojo-Cho Tim.
We started morning class with weapons today. Every morning during the seminar was weapons. Followed buy a regular class. One of the most interesting things about the seminar is that Tissier taught every class the whole week! We then planned our evening after class. We are having our last dinner in downtown Paris with Daniel (high ranking student of Tissier.) Daniel took us to the Notre Dame.. Amazing! Then he took us to a traditional french restaurant. Sensei is really doing very well with the red wines! We have allot new training 2 bring to the dojo! Be ready for class cause we are doing it French Style!
Margarita Nite In Paris!
23. April 2010 by Dojo-Cho Tim.
ok.. We were invited 2 a “Margarita” party by a high ranking student of Tissier Shihan. His flat was located near downtown Paris. Only close friends of Tissier were present 2 include Tissier. Our sensei became the Margarita Samurai of the party! We did it NJ style! (check Kits FaceBook for photo) Yes, we got in very late 2 our flat. It was about 2am! It’s hard 2 wake up in morning 2 train when ur body hurts, knees hurt, & the Margarita hurts! Ha
We went 2 all Paris Hotspots!
21. April 2010 by Dojo-Cho Tim.
At the request of Tissier Shihan, we were directed to see the highlights of Paris. We saw the Eiffel Tower, the Arc De Triomphe, the Bourne Supremecy bridge- Pont Neuf bridge over the Seine River and the Louvre. We even took pics with Mona Lisa. She even smiled @ us. Ha We have all the picks 2 show you all when we get back. (Please check Kit’s pics for updates. For some unknown reason I can’t post pics from Paris Wi-Fi. Network issues.)

Getting ready 4 Afternoon classes!
20. April 2010 by Dojo-Cho Tim.
OMG.. Finally found some real pizza! They don’t have allot of things we are used to here. Trying 2 wash gi’s & they don’t have bleach. Our room looks like a hanging gi outlet drying em. Getting ready for afternoon classes & then nite class @ Tissiers dojo! Samurai must train!!! (p.s. Check Kits Facebook 4 pics. I’m having pic uploading issues.)
Our First Day Of Practice In Paris
19. April 2010 by Dojo-Cho Tim.
we had a major day of practice in Paris. The seminar has appox. 500 from 25 countrys. Then we went to Shihan Tissier’s personal dojo. Really old dojo. There was also other arts also training in different parts.. Karate, & BJJ classes where totally full. Our bodys feel like we have been hit with bats! Everyone practices very clean but no goofing off! The bathroom in the apartment is really small that barely fits sensei! They only have one washer that cleans one gi in 1½hr. They don’t even have BLEACH for whites out here. No dryers!Sensei finally found his Margaritas!
